More than likely your keyboard got wet. Easiest thing and best thing to do is to replace the PCB keyboard. thats what will fix the problem.
I have one of the most disturbing problems: my physical (real) keyboard is screwed up on my HTC G1 (T-Mobile Branded).
All the letters work fine exept for these "couples" that decide to write both letters at the same time:
6 and r
4 and 5
c and n
h and g
space and @
So each time i press one, the other gets written in the text area; for example if i wanna type "hadware", i will get "hgadwa6re". I can substitute it with the cirtual tactile keyboard but its not as good as the physical one.
It's not likely to be a hardware bug, because the c and n are very remote, and so are the r and 6 (when i say hardware, i'm thinking about close buttons being pressed at the same time).
It's a QWERTZ Keyboard, please help me!

Yeah I would call T mobile and tell them and have them send you another phone, if you can
hopefully they wont charge you a deductible or else thats going to be a little pricey just for a keyboard. either way if it is water damage they will charge you and still send you a replacement phone.
Well, it simply cannot have gotten wet: it had the bugged when i started it, right out of the box.
The problem is that if i get it sent back and i get a new one, i lose the money i spent for the unlocking (20€...). Do you think it may just be a software problem?
The virtual keyboard works fine.
no simply a hardware issue..happened to me with one of my previous G1's whenever I hit certain buttons...send it back..if a factory reset doesn't work then its not usually a good thing..if you just got the phone you should have no problem returning it and even getting something for your troubles I made them pay 3 months of my data plan after my 3rd phone
Noobs look here for root info
Need android downloads??

talk to whoever unlocked them phone and explain to them the situation. that you need to send it back but you dont want to have to spend the money unlocking it again.
but doesnt unlocking the g1 void the warranty?
I don't know... if it does, i'm just screwed. Do you think a normal phone repair-shopt will be able to take care of the problem?
i wonder if you can relock it. because if you do a wipe i know it still stays unlocked. i had a white G1 before and i did a wipe on it, and i thought it wasnt unlocked, then i sold it, and they guy said it was already unlocked. so a simple wipe wont do it.
ask who ever unlocked it if they can lock it back to tmobile?
I don't think so. I'm first gonna look up on Amazon's returning policy what's good and what's not. Then i'll see what i can do :P.
