***I do not endorse this list, whatsoever. I hopped on the pre-order and am counting down the days til I receive my device. I just think it is ridiculous that people are coming up with lists like this that make little sense. I would like my friends on androidcommunity.com to chime in with their thoughts of such a ridiculous list of so-called flaws this device has.***

"says the handset manufacturer HTC. “T-Mobile G1 With Google,” is the official name. Based on Google’s Android OS, G1 has a lot going for it. It’s been immediately designated as the most probable iPhone-killer. If it weren’t for these:“The most exciting phone in the history of phones.”

but just remember most of those is gonna change over time
You can't have everything especially with the first phone of its kind. A lot of those issues are completely invalid. Like having iTunes?? Only 2 phones have iTunes because its a manufacturer thing. The G1 has its equivalant that is more widely accepted. Anyway I am not goign to go into the ignorance of that post. I don't have all day to pick them appart.
1st gen G1 vs. 3rd gen iPhone...not a fair fight.
and you can add other e-mail accounts... and if you had a phone with everything... how would they ever make money again? doesn't work that way... but android almost makes it that way.. unlimited things to do and upgrade. and who cares about itunes... we all will have our own thing... or we would have got an Iphone. and they are changing the cap on the 3G. and in the long run... Android will take over all OS for phones... there is just too much potential for others to keep up! bottom line... This is going to be the beginning of the future cell phones. and go check out the user manuel and reed the post topics before you come up with a list of things wrong... and think about the list of things wrong with that dang Iphone. and a list of what the G1 CAN do, big difference! get off our site! ha.
I actually think a bunch of these 'critical issues' like others have said are ridiculous. Either they will be negated with the next set of updates or are all together invalid (as refused said) -- also the whole bandwidth thing seems to be working itself out as well...
You're always going to have nay-sayers when something new comes out that isn't a carbon copy of the current industry leader. But just looking at the list of Apps set to come out, I'm totally ignoring anything negative people have to say.
i was about to do that and then i stopped.
someone should make a page of shortcomings of the iphone.
- locked to att
- apps cost money
- locked to itunes
- cannot predict the future
- is .0298984 mm too large
- made by apple
- no physical keyboard
- dropped $200 in price one month after being released
- no copy paste
- mostly owned by pigheaded fanatics
- seems to control peoples minds
- has no buttons, thats right i judge gadgets based on how many buttons they have
- is a colossal waste of money for anyone who bought one
- kills baby seals
- eats babies
I wouldn't say critical issues, more like minor inconveniences that will be fixed shortly
