Default Is anybody looking at their browser cache?

Ok, so i've done this a few times with a lot of combinations of sites. This sort of has me a bit worried. My internal storage was down to about 22mb. So i cleared the chached pages in the browser and it freed up 8mb. Now, i only looked at about 4 sites since the last time i did that. Craigs list, ebay, addicted2tattoos.com (my moms site), and cityslikkers.com. I know its a full web browser, but 8mb seems like alot for that. At that rate and with regualr browsing it seems like the rest of your internal storage would fill up pretty fast, heck before you notice it.

is anyone else seeing this on their phones? why is it caching so much? i've noticed this before, last time it freed up 10mb after only messing with it a little, mostly browsing here on AC.

It just seems like alot for a mobile browser to be caching. i have never had another phone with a real browser cache that much that quick. On the iphone i would get 10mb after a week or so of heavy browsing.

hmm 8MB for me too. thats definitely a problem. either needs to be on SD card or limited to around 3-4 MB

I haven't seen this problem, but I never looked at my storage space to see how much I had left. My phone did throw up the flag that it was running short of storage space, probably because I have every app and their mother downloaded to my phone for testing .

Remember that this is kinda like the Beta of the G1, I've seen people asking the same question related to storage, so they'll probably alter the source to make all apps to store on the memory card and leave the 256 megs of internal memory to browser cache.

It's comin' out of the pipe, hang in there.

ya, but theres really only 70mb left after the OS and all the synced data. still not much if its 8mb after 4 sites, (ebay front page and help only, a2t 3 pages and the rest only 1) It would have to cache to the SD card to make it what they keep advertising it to be IMO. Yes, i know we are all beta testers (silly seeing how its 1.0).. but latly im starting to feel like an alpha tester...

Check your Available space under internal phone storage in Settings > SD card & phone storage

go back to the browser and do Menu > More > Settings > Clear Cache

Go back and check your space and do the math.
