EDGE will be affected as well, remember that if Tmo is using the same towers and data segregating patterns for 3g they will do it by location. Meaning if you are in an area outside of a 3g network, but using EDGE, the towers can still be flooded due to your neighbors. Think of it as Cable Band-with usage within three blocks of each other. But hopefully EDGE will be plenty speedy

It IS a lot faster . . . I'm impressed, I can't tell what the kbps is, but the phone definitely eats up the data faster on EDGE, and YouTube/Google Maps Street View is actually usable. An unexpected benefit to buying a G1!
