If you remove the G1 data plan and use the Total internet or TZONE, and use something else then you won't get future updates, this came straight from T-Mobile USA corporate this afternoon.

Word of mouth from a corporate employee to me who knows what he is talking about 100%, a good friend, so I don't have any documentation or "links". Not everything is on the internet. Take it or leave it just passing the word, out.

haha. hilarious. i am not even a tmobile customer and somehow got the most recent software update just fine.
