The google app store is tied to your gmail account... so you will lose your saved apps if you associate another email account.
I want to change the gmail account that I have associated with my G1. I know how to do this and I know that I will lose my Contacts and need to back them up first.
However, I haven't been able to find anything on line which says what will happen with all my installed apps if I change the gmail account. Will I still have those apps installed on my G1 after the gmail change, or will I have to re-install all of them after the gmail switch?
Thanks.
PS: The reason I want to change my gmail account is because I have a Google Voice account that is associated with a gmail address that is different from the one I'm currently using on my G1, and the Google Voice Android app can't access that account from my G1. It appears that I have to associate the same gmail address with my G1 and with Google Voice before the Google Voice app can function on my G1. Since it's impossible to change the gmail address of an existing Google Voice account, I am forced to change the gmail address that my G1 uses.

There is a way to do it so you dont lose your apps, PM me.
I discussed this in another thread a few weeks ago. I've not tried it myself but... this is what we learnt (use at your own risk).
* The PAID apps are tied to your Google account.
* The FREE apps aren't.
* If you change your Google account on the phone, ALL existing apps (paid and free) that you have installed remain and continue to work as normal.
* You won't be able to get updates for your paid apps, as the Market app won't authorise it. You will need to buy them again if you want updates.
* You will be able to get updates for your free apps.
