Hey guys, this might be a stretch, but anyone know whats the deal with this crazy error I get via SMS every few min. " Achtung: SMS-Zustellung nicht moglick, weil Guthaben zu gering od. Zielrufunummer ungultig. Bla bla bla.
Translated it goes something like, you dont have enough money on your sim to get sms service... or there is a problem... ?
Its an blau.de sim, which is a reseller of e-plus service. I entered a new "access point" APN for the e-plus network, (found on the internet) and thats about it. Voice and Data work fine. 3G even. Its sweet. However, SMS... Sorta works?
hmm, ok
so as the APN, i have one set for
Name: E-Plus
APN: internet.eplus.de
Username:eplus
password:eplus
MCC is set to 262, but i didn't change that
MNC is 03, same as MCC
im going to google some more,
however, something is not right at all. I just blew threw 19.99 euro's on my sim card in one day of calling (30 min) and data? maybe?
heres another crazy part, I get sms's and send sms's ok. Someone sent me one, and I replied via SMS last night, and it WORKED WTF? But I still get the error messages (via sms) from the carrier, Blau. ??
And here I was, hoping it was just because I was using blau.de in Austria (here for christmas).
I have the same problem. I get like 100 sms like that every day.And also some that seam to be from jamba or st similar.
I did some googleling when it startet and I found s.o. on a blog who had the problem with another t-mobile phone. blau.de told him that it's because the t-mobile software requests s.t. blau.de can not deal with. They say the only solution is to install neutral software... which is not available as of now..or is it?
Are you also on RC19? Or have you updated?
But at least is seems to cost nothing, I've been checking, the sms say there is not enough funds left but its all there and nothing has been charged. It's just kind of anoying. I still think blau.de should be able to do something about it, since the problem does not exist with other providers.
Everething including sms is working fine for me too, even the market. I love it.
Hope we can find a solution.![]()
My G1 is on RC30,
Yea, its deffinatly something happening when the phone is "woken" up because I usually don't get the SMS-Zustellung messages until I turn the screen on. Sometimes its about 8 messages, sometimes its just 2sometimes none.
Im also trying to get the 9.99 euro data "plan" but its difficult for me to figure out the exact button presses on the "1155" automated system. Apparently, I used up my 20.00 euro starting charge already in one day?!
Do you know if the blau.de website has a place to see what the phone "bill" with what phone calls or data was used?
All I know is *100#
More updates later, im at ccc now... =)
Funny, i'll be back in Berlin tomorrow :-)
All my theories end up being wrong... some services seem to trigger the sms but I also got 20 over night when the phone was not in use...
There is no way to book the data plan online on blau.de but you can see all money you spend. I use it all the time. You log in to the site with your number and a password.. can`t remember how I got the pw... maybe you can set it up with the pin or s.t. the first time.
Edit: the pw should be on the papers that came with the card. I`m going to book the data plan tomorrow so I can tell you the buttons to press then, if you still need help.

More news, bad news...

It seems like the MyFaves app sends out SMS messages that get interpreted as some international phone number through some carriers. Not exactly a bug, not exactly a great feature if we are using these phones on other networks...

Some group of G1 users apparently hacked an update.zip to block that myfaves app from sending that message. but I already have rc30 and therefore it would be a pain in the ass to get that installed in my phone.
I finally found the "EVN" page on the blau.de website, where it gives you a break down of the charges. Here are the "killers" of my sim card charge
Gespräche ins Ausland | +7-9106407007 | 1:45 | 3,3700
Gespräche ins Ausland | +7-9106407007 | 5:50 | 10,7100
Then there are numberous
SMS ins Ausland to that same number which cost .20 euro ! ARG
I have to get a recharge soon or a new sim...
wow, how did that happen?
First thing my phone did when I turned it on in Germany was download the update and start bugging me about it every 5 minutes. Cost me 5 € on data.
I now have the data package and thanks to your links and some reading a was able to update my phone to the modified RC8 without myfavs. I'm now happily not getting any unwanted sms.
To bad its so complicated with RC30 installed.
if you use a carrier in the network of t-mobile (like me: callmobile), you don't have that sms-problem.
If you install the uk version of the software you won't have that problem either.
And data traffic:
as long as you don't have a flatrate, delete all APNs exept your blau.de APN. Delete one letter of the APN blau.de. If you want to use UMTS / 3G just edit that APN again and add that missing letter. delete the letter afterwards. I know this is a pain in the ... but it's better than paying a fortune.
Be sure to uncheck roaming data when abroad, otherwise your holiday will be expensive, too.
