I think it says "Probably Spam" because its your first post.
As for your other issues--sorry no idea.
Hey everyone,
I've read a few threads on here about issues with WiFi on the HTC Magic, but I've never seen a proper answer as to what the problem is.
I have a HTC Magic, and I'm running a Linksys WRT160N WiFi Router at home. I've tried changing every setting on the Router, hard coding the IP on the Magic, all to no avail.
Has anyone worked out the soultion, or the actual problem?
Just to recap what I've tried:
Router -
All security, no security (everything in between), broadcasting SSID, Channel 3 only, G only,
Magic -
Scan, Manual Add, Manual IP.
It works fine on a Belkin WiFi Router?
Cheers,
Mitchell.
P.S. Why does it say "Probably spam" under my name?

Sorry mate what is your problem? Will your phone not connect to the wireless? You never actually said what the problem is...
And he's right about the posts... one more post and you won't be "probably spam"
Ahh, ok, that makes sense about the "probably spam" thing.
Sorry, yes, the actual issue is that my HTC Magic won't connect to my Linksys WRT160N WiFi Router

Ok, well I've just read a post somewhere that says changing the router from "Mixed Mode" (aka A, B, G, N) to just "G-Mode" will fix the problem. I'll let everyone know how I go when I get home tonight.
Cheers,
Mitchell.
Hope it works! And do let us know.
YAY!
Ok, changing the Network mode from "Mixed" to "Wireless-G Only" enables you to connect a HTC Magic to a Linksys router!!
I hope this solves the problem for anyone else out there having the same issue![]()
Just want to thank the responder with the solution. Just got my own mytouch and had same problem with my Linksys router. the mytouch could see my Netgear router but not my Linksys. With prescribed change, it now works. Thanks again.
