HTC Magic-Itunes Sync

Hi Guy's - Gal's

I get my Vodafone Magic phone on Wed & wanted to ask a couple of things if I may :

1) How would I sync my Imac Itunes with the phone

2) How can I synch my gmail contacts & calendar

3) Is the e-mail push, like my blackberry

4) Can I use MSN Messenger

FYI: I have a TMobile USA G1

1) Android is not compatible with Itunes, you may want to convert to MP3 and use the default music player.

2) All your Gmail, Contacts and Calendar should sync automatically once you activate your phone using your Gmail account.

3)Yes email is push.

4)You should be able to use the default IM, I am now using Hi MSN in the Market.

Is the Magic preloaded with Amazon and Google Latitude because I jailbroke my G1 lastnight & am now running the HTC Magic ROM and those 2 are missing.

it plays m4a files but not m4p drmed music, have a search for sync tools like the one by sailing media

If you're comfortable in the command line you can try my python script to export playlists and generate .m3u playlists.

Hi,

Salling here. I'd love to make HTC Magic compatible, but I need your help to do so, as the Magic is not available for purchase here yet.

Basically, I need the phone's USB product ID. To get this information, connect the phone in mass storage mode (so that it shows up as a drive in Finder). Then open System Profiler, and check under the USB node, for the Magic. You'll find the product ID in the bottom-right view.

This works similarly in Windows, but using Device Manager, checking the USB controller node.

I need a couple of you to do this, as it's possible they're using multiple USB product IDs (as was the case with the G1).
