Nice find !
*I apologize if this has already been posted*
The good folks over at XDA have a thread showing how to install the HTC Keyboard on the myTouch 3G.
This keyboard has the regular HTC qwerty, compact qwerty (think blackberry pearl), and t9 mode.
There are several ways to do this, but the instructions I have below is the way I did it, and what I assume to be the easiest.
1) Go to the Market and download 'AppManager'
2) Download the HTC Keyboard Installation File to your computer.
3) Mount your phone to your pc, and move the HTC_IME.apk to your sd card.
4) Open AppManager, press the menu key, and select 'Install from SD'. There you can install the .apk file. If the file is not visible, press menu again, and select 'Whole SD' so that you can see the file.
5) Go to your home > Settings > Locale & text. Select 'Touch Input'.
6) Go to someplace where you input text, such as messaging. Long-press on the text input field, and select 'Input Method'. Select 'Touch Input'.
When you go to enter text, the HTC keyboard should now be in use. You can click the little gear on the keyboard to change the keyboard settings, and toggle between qwerty/t9/compact qwerty.
I hope this works for everyone, let me know if there are any errors in my post, thanks.

Nice find !
so should it work on the G1 as well?
Formerly HTC-G1
Due to forum corrupting my name.
Yeah, it will work on the G1 as well.
Its a pretty cool keyboard , has lots of functions . I've been using it on the g1 for a bit now . Its included in cyanogens roms , if your rooted . It has a calibration tool that's pretty cool .it calibrates to your personal way of typing !
Idk I prefer the Google vk
I've been going back and forth, I can't decide which one I want. I really like the compact qwerty when in portrait mode, it makes one-handed typing very easy/fast.
