It's worth it... And if you updated the SPL/Radio - and you're "good with teh rooting" why are you confused? Go search JACHero, see if you can find the link. It's for sure posted in this thread, and the main thread is on XDA.

It's worth it, but do I personally trust you formatting your SDCard properly to use it? Absolutely not.

My main issue is that I'm using a Class 2 SD Card right now. I really don't feel like buying a Class 6 right now (I didn't read the thing before I copped it lol) Idk Johnny, 2.3.5 is kinda slow for me... Maybe its a psychosematic, maybe I'm psychotic, maybe I'm getting mad that Megan Fox keeps complaining that she can't figure out how to make me three fried eggs over easy.

Bluetooth / LED I'd deal with some lag and optimize my own thing thing to make it all super slick. I wish Dude (dude being JAC) would throw Rosie.apk back internal. I can do it, but I don't want tooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo

I posted this over XDA, and I have not gotten a reply yet, from this link

    http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=533505

perhaps I get lucky here, and people can help me.

What happens if you miss a step, but still able to flash the latest 2.3.5 hero rom? (Following these steps reduces the lag?)

That's is exactly what I did:

    1. I already had the latest radio update (so I didn't bother downloading again)
    2. I installed latest SPL, renamed it to "update" in my sd card, turn off phone, turn-on phone (HOME+END button), hit ALT+S.
(I don't have a SD card reader yet.....but I have another phone (T-Mobile Wing), I removed SD card from G1, put it in T-Mobile Wing, opened folder where SD card is, and deleted "update" (SPL file), rename the 2.3.5 HERO rom to "update", took SD card out of T-Mobile Wing, put it in my G1)
    3. Turn on G1 (HOME + END), wipe (ALT+W), then flash (ALT+S)
(Waited until it installed new hero ROM, it was installed, then I went to swapper application and changed settings to " /system/sd/swap.swp "

    That's it.

I already had partition my SD card before doing this update. I dont know if it's necessary to do it again.

My G1 is working, and I have 72MB free space in internal phone storage (so far).

    My question is:

Do I need to follow these steps to make the rom work better? To allow my apps go to my SD card (like it was before).?

By the way, I installed the OVERCLOCKWIDGET app from market and it won't open. (Launch Error, "Overclockwidget (need root) could not be launched")

Any inputs would be greatly appreciated.

Then I wipe, flash new ROM.

Have you rebooted your phone since everything sync'd up / installed? I found that rebooting made things work a bit better after initial install.

Also - I had some issues installing some things / running somethings due to a dalvik-cache problem. I would just goto the dalvik-cache dir and rm * it, reboot and have it rebuild. For some reason - for me - I cannot get Dalvik-Cache to symlink to my sdcard, so it causes some problems every now and then for me.

Try the rm * in the dalvik-cache folder, reboot - and try it again.

I've rebooted three or four times after this.

Strange thing is that yesterday after flashing this new ROM, and I put charger to charge G1, the light on top of phone (LED light) would show up that is "charging", now all of the sudden it has disappeared.

Nothing major (phone still charges), but something to show.

EDIT: (Update) I rebooted one more time, and it does seem to be smoother and faster than before, and what do you know? Overclock app is now working.
