Hi,
I bought my HTC Hero 2 days ago and love it. The only thing I'm really annoyed by it's occasional laging (stuttering). I'm experiencing this right after you unlock the screen and clock changes, or when you flip through widgets to the left or right or when you're going through apps list.
I really love it and if it's there some way to improve this I would be really glad to read it.
I'm wondering if there's any way to speed up your Hero with fast MicroSD card? To reroute some cache from apps or sth, to optimize? Just guessing...
Thanks for your answers!![]()

Not sure anything can be done. The clock is a little annoying but I'm used to it now. If the apps/functions worked in real time then multitasking would be out of the question. It's the price you pay for functionality - for the time being it's this or do one thing at a time-i.e. i-phone.
I have a class 6 card but it does not affect the speed of apps which load from the main memory. I can only suggest using application killer etc as it's surprising how much is running you don't know about - and don't necessarily need. It would be nice to choose in the settings which programmes close on hitting the 'back' button.
It might also be about how many widgets you have running on the 5 homescreens. If you have one or 2 on every screen it has to refresh the data on some/all the widgets as soon as it "wakes up". Try closing a few and see if there is any difference. There is on my phone but it's not "exactly" the same.

Thank you for all your advices. I installed TasKiller and was suprised how many apps are running. It's a shame apps don't shutdown completely if you press Back button with that intention
I did a bit of a research and found out how to transfer phone's cache to SD card, it's really not that hard, but be sure you're doing that from Vista not Win7.

Then you just install "Move cache for root" application and that is
Has anyone been playing with overclocking your Hero? App "Open Overclocker" it's seems to be working. I'm curious if there's any improvement, like no lagging
I know that because of a multitasking and old processor, there's some lagging, I can live with that, because multitasking rox![]()
Threads like this give the haters more ammo to bash the HERO, there is always a way around certain problems and the solution is to read the manual and play with the phone itself. This is JUST a phone with Android and is ALMOST identical to the G1,whatever works on the G1 "MIGHT" also work for the HERO.

I would like some help on this issue too, it's a bit annoying if I use the camera and then it slows down later in the day, check task killer and apps are still in memory that I havn't used in 5-6 hours.
But so far I've just been using taskkiller and keeping my number of widgets in use down.
