Hey that's awesome so what did u tell them?
Ok guys,
Im hoping this helps some people out like it did me. I already have two replacement batteries for my G1 and recently the glass over the camera lense broke off of the back cover. I called t-mo and they do not carry the covers, I needed to call HTC. Called HTC (1-888-716-3594) and they proceded to tell me that the covers and batteries are manufactured by a third party distributer to keep costs down for T-mo. HTC only carries the versions for the unlocked phones. COOL THING. HTC will do an advaced replacement and send you an HTC manufactured back cover.
ALSO, they ship the unlocked with a SANYO battery, not the version in the phone. They will also do an advanced replacement for the battery. All it takes is putting the credit card on file and sending yours back in less than a month so they dont charge you. HTC rep said they have had better luck with battery life and less heat with the SANYO's also, they said that they have no plans for a higher capacity battery as they see a higher rate of mainboard failure when using them due to heat.
Overall, thats a new back cover and a new battery I have gotten at no charge to me and not the typical junk sent to you by T-mo. Give it a try.
Hey that's awesome so what did u tell them?
Just called about the replacement back cover and the guy told me about the battery and said I would probably start having problems with mine within a few months and he would replace it for me free of charge too. I have never called HTC before but from my experience now, they are awesome.
So I should just call about a replacement back cover?
I just received a replacement battery from HTC yesterday, and charged it overnight.
I'll let you know if I find that it has better battery life then the one I'm returning.
When I spoke with HTC to complain about my battery not holding it's charge as long as it used to, the HTC rep told me they are aware of problems with the batteries, that they'll eventually over heat and cause problems for the G1 itself, and said it's a good thing I called.
Gave my CC, was told it would NOT be charged unless I didn't send back the old battery. If I don't send the old one back, I'll be charged about $35.
HTC even send me a self addressed Fed Ex box to put my old battery in and drop off at FedEx.
Great service!
How can I contact HTC (noob question)!
"Do not get a Nokia 6133 if you have facial hair as the screen will catch on it. "
"[Will Cupcake make the creaking stop] ??"
Thanks for the heads up Undert8726. My battery is on the way.
I cleverly posted the phone number in parenthesis on my first post. I cant see it bc im posting now but look and you will find.
How is the battery? Notice any differences?
I am so happy for this because I was just about to create a new post explaining that I have noticed that my battery does not charge all the way. The little light will show red when battery is charging then turns green when fully charged. Well I do not get a green light any more, this has been for a couple of days now. I just let the battery die today an I am now charging it to see if I get a green light.
Question are you located in the USA? Thanks.
