all you have to do is play the song throught the music player... when the song is playing... click on the menu button. go to, set as... ringtone. then from there it should show up in all your rigtone and notification menus... something like that.
Buy the rumor, Sell the news.
I use wavepad & have had no problems. I made extra files outside my music folder named ringtones, notifications, alarms. I went in wave & cut the song, made sure I save it as an mp3 in the appr file, then went back into my phone & turned the mass storage off, unplugged it from the USB, & then went into music on the phone 7 found my ringtone file, found the song I wanted pressed it & held down on it, & it gave me the choice of using it as a ringtone. You have to do the same thing for every new one you make tho. They will never just show up as ringtones in my experience.
Is there an app to make ringtones from a pc and can the ones from itunes be transfered?
So yeah, I've never gotten just putting an mp3 on my phone to come up in the ringtone list, I've tried /Music/Ringtones and /Music/ringtones, no dice. I've always had to bring up the file in the built in music player and choose the menu option "use as ringtone", and that works fine.
My question is, doing that doesn't add that file to your notification ringtone list, how do you get something in there?
is ringdroid on the marketplace?
Ripkiller1 there is a free audio editor called Audacity that I have used. You import a song and then can cut it down to the part of the song you want to use as a ringertone. This can be done on your PC and then trasferred to your phone. On the droid you would connect your phone to the pc using the sync cable that came with the phone; mount your SD card and then transfer using windows explorer. I've made quite a few great ringtones that way. Also on the android market is a program called Ringdroid that can create one on your phone itself. I've never used it but it is rated highly and I've seen it in reviews as a must have app. Hope that helps![]()

I have used this method in the past, but suddenly the option for 'set as ringtone' isn't showing up in the menu when I am playing the song I want to use. Does anyone have any suggestions? Maybe I saved the file in the wrong folder? Though I made a copy and saved it in the downloads folder, none of the songs I have on my music player have the option of being a ringtone any more.![]()
