How to Put on Silent/Vibrate?

How do you quickly put the phone into vibrate mode? Like on the iPhone, you just flip the switch on the side...

use the volume key on the side it will go down to vibrate and silent

Press and hold the red power button.

Actually that will turn off even the vibration. If you press the volume up button after hitting the red power button silent mode it will turn on vibrate mode.

Download the free ap, aSettings, put the icon for it on your home page, and from there you can toggle the following:

Brightness
GPS
Bluetooth
Wi-Fi
Airplane Mode
Ring Mode: Normal, Silent, or Vibrate

I use this ap every single day -- one of my most used applications.

just using the volume rocker is definitely easier than launching an app, unless you need it for toggling the other features as well
