How to keep a dialer from locking during the call?

I find it very inconvenient that I have to tap twice when I am prompted to press a key after listening to the lengthly machine greetings and instructions, " if you want such and such., press 1, or ...".

Can I disable this function?

put it on your sd card and install it using any file manager, should work better for you i am pretty sure it has the feature your looking for

On the Hero you can push the volume button to unlock the keyboard during a call. Slightly less bother.

I'm waiting for an N1. Once I get a backup phone (I do not have a landline so it's crucial to have a working cellphne), I will try this when I switch to cyanogen.
