How To Get A White G1 With Pre-Order / T-Mobile g1 in white being held back? [MERGED]

new to forums so sorry if this question has been repeated. I am interested in the white color of the g1 so many rumors out there (delayed, paint chipping, won't be available at launch, etc etc ) I know you cannot pre-order on t-mobile as they only offer brown or black, will the white one be available on launch day or has it really been delayed due to problems with the paint. Im in Az so 3g is available here do you think it will be impossible to try to get a white version launch day, i know it wont be crazy like iphone launch or will it. please chime in thanks

At this point I would anticipate quite a few people out to get the G1 on release day. the preorders did sell out, about 25,000 devices I think in 3 or 4 days.. As for the white G1 we do not know much about availability at this point but you can always go on release day and check . It can't hurt. Im sure once we get information you will see a front page story about it since the white G1 is so popular.

the sales rep told me they are coming out with a white one on october 22

A CSS told me that the white model should be available at the store on launch but you have to take anything they tell you with a grain of salt.

Yes, there have been a few threads on this topic. Nobody knows for certain, but the latest rumor is that it will be available on launch date.

Ok so like most of you I also pre-ordered the black g1 but rather have the white g1.

My plan is to call tmobile early Oct 22nd and order the white g1 and wait a few days to receive it. If they dont have it in stock to ship then I'll just head to a local tmobile store and buy it on the spot.

As for the pre-ordered black g1, it's my back up. If what I said above doesnt work out, then I'll just stick with the black g1 that should be at my doorstep Oct 22nd. Fingers crossed, If I can get the white G1 either by calling in or buying it at a store, then I'll just refuse the shipment of the black g1.

I think I'll do the same as eyceburg11. I'll call the 22 and see if I can get the white one for $179. I f I can, I'll refuse the package from Ups and wait for the other, or maybe I'll take them both and sell the black one on Ebay since I payed the $179 price on the first place!
