How To Dowload Attachments Sent From Emails

Hey I've searched and have found nothing.I wanted to know how can I download attachments sent to me from emails to my g1.because my friend sent me a song on my gmail account I have as the primary account on my g1 and it can onlt be previewed.is there an application that u can download that will allow you to be able to let you download the attachments in email?or how can it be done?

Anyways, welcome to Android Community.

In addition to the answer, did you try the browser version of your gmail aswell? I havent tried downloading any mp3s or other files, only pics.

I've installed the k9mail client and still I am not able to download attachments feom the emails or save then to my sd card.after I installed it I added an account to the k9 mail client with an attachment to download with was an mp3 song not too big and it had the paperclip symbol next to the attachment and nothing.I can't even click on where the attachment is.it won't let me.also it does not work with the primary gmail account you use for the phone.let's say I have an attachment on my primary gmail account it won't let me download it or save it only preview it.now I added the primary account to the k9 mail client and the attachment I had there like I described above has the paperclip above it and it said null and it won't even let me click on it or nothing.so I mean come on,what's the purpose of this program?u would actually have to add your primary account u use with the phone again with the k9mail client in orfder for u to be able to save an attachment to ur sd card and that's even if it let's youu,that's pretty stupid.so the program did not help at all.and to the other person that asked if I used the gmail thru the web browser,what exactly did mean?thru gmail.com?ill tey,but again k9 did not work at all,all I want to be able 2 do is be able do save attachments to my sd card.if there's anybody that know another possible way plz let me know.thanks in advance.

I had the same problem on my G1. I opened my web browser, and went to www.gmail.com then opened the email I wanted and when I click on the attachment (music mp3) it downloaded to my songs folder. Worked fine.
