unless someone on this board works at tmobile then i see it very hard for someone to have a MyTouch in their hands right now

It is well known that several people have this phone in hand. My understanding is that one person at each store was given one recently. Even if that is incorrect there are definitely some people out there that have them.

So 192 or 288? I still don't have a clear answer.

How much memory will it be able to hold if it's going to have a mini SD slot? the G1's micro is maxed at 16gb. will the my touch be more? like 32gb or higher?

It just kills me that they chose the version of the phone with lower RAM. Five out of the six other companies, that sell this phone in other countries, sell the version with 288 MB. Both the palm pre and iPhone have 256 MB or something close to that. Way to compete T-Mobile.

what does the ram do again anyways? i was told along time ago but didn't really retain it.

It helps with multi-tasking, big time, and prevents the phone from running sluggishly. That's a super-layman's explanation
