Take your battery and sim card out for about 20 seconds and putit back it that should reset everything without losing your apps and junk
when my phone is below 15% battery and im in an app or something, when i hit the home button it'll go home, but just show the wallpaper and no widgets for maybe 4 seconds, and then everything will appear. other than that i haven't heard of what your experiencing.

i don't care how many problems this phone has... still better then any of my old phones... last phone was the t-mobile wing... so i can't complain about anything! i love my G1.
only about 20 tracks.. i even deleted the music that came w the phone
im gonna try powering down..
Ok I powered off and back. Seems better now.
It actually was only doing it sometimes.. I'll see how long it takes after this reboot before its back.
Anyone know how to do a soft reset on the g1?
i personally think there is a memory leak with the browser... i have had the same issue for days now when browsing and having 4 different windows open the pressing the home button, it takes about 10 seconds for my icons and widgets to appear...
hopefully the OTA update will address this

So they fact that many apps can run at the same time in the background is causing it to be slow? Wasn't this one of the features they were like displaying? They should have the option to shut apps down.. Or do they? (Don't have a G1)
the OS currently does not have a "task manager," and i don't believe the device to be slowing down because of too many applications open... everything is pretty much open on my device and it doesn't slow down one bit, its the browser specifically for me when trying to get out of it
