At this time, it is not possible to store programs to the SD card.
Hey I just realize that all the applications I downloaded were stored in the internal memory, not the SD card. Is it because I check the "Use for USB Storage"?
If that is the case, should I unchecked this option if I want to save all the downloads on the SD card?
Thanks
Then, is it possible to delete some of the application or data, e.g. wallpapers that come with the phone? Since the internal storage is only 256 M, it will run out pretty soon.
For the future, will this storage shortage problem be solved? For example, is it possible transfering data between internal storage and SD card? I have been using SonyEricsson P1i for two years with a 1G SD card and never have problem with the storage, even though the built in memory is only 128 M.
nah...HTC dropped the ball in three arenas:
- no 3.5mm jack
- the placement of the USB charger
- the small internal mem...would 8GB AND a microSD slot be too hard?

Unfortunately without major complaining and nagging (basically a LOT of customers making it a big deal that they are running out of space) I'm guessing Google won't change it. There is a reason why they decided to allow installations of apps only in the internal memory. And no it wasn't an oversight where they just forgot to include the option to install to the SDcard. Apparently it is to make it so downloading apps will be faster. Some people reported the new version of apps that were reloaded are smaller in size than original. Apparently the aim is to have the apk install file smaller and when you start the application the first time then the app downloads nonsensitive data to the SDCard.
Found it in this discussion:

Of course personally I feel this is still inadequate because it doesn't solve the problem for games which require media assets of large size and typically you want to download the whole game at once rather than having it download stuff when you first start it, since most singleplayer games aren't online games. Also it would require the developer have a webserver to upload files outside of the install file. Like the last post, I feel at the very least they should allow for apps to have associated folders on the SDcard to store media files, which tend to be the parts that take up the most space in apps.
I didn't dig too deep so there may be other more technical reasons why Android can't install apps on the sdcard. I have heard that apps installed from places other than the Market (either online or through usb) installs on the sdcard, but I'm not sure how true that is.
