Have Terrible Battery Life?

I think I can almost confidently say if you have a g1 and your battery life only lasts around 4 hours, you are CONSTANTLY pulling the phone out of your pocket, unlocking it, and checking it when nothing new has happened.

I'm pretty damn sure this is how the battery dies so fast. I've been unlocking my phone less and it's been taking me through my whole day!

Give it a try, get back here with results.
I will personally kick everyone in the rear if this helps a lot of people.

Yea but when it comes to unlocking it to check your texts or twitter updates and only really use it for like 5 seconds, I'm aiming to keep my phones screen on all day with 0% brightness like I always have it on and see how well it does since when I'm waiting for someone to text me back and I leave the phone on it seems to be more conservative

I know what you mean. I have virtually everything turned off when it's in my pocket and I only only turn things on when i need to. That way I can leave my G1 on standby overnight and it will only lose 1%ish battery
