I hate to say this but I hope Tmo is gonna fix this proxy workaround soon. This is not fair to the people who paid for the full price.

Why is it unfair? People using the workaround aren't doing anything illegal, nor are they doing anything people who paid "for the full price" couldn't have.

If you don't mind paying the full price, that's your business. I personally think $25 a month for what I'd use it for is outrageous. $6 for EDGE is much more reasonable. The workaround doesn't get 3g AFAIK anyway, so paying the full price gets you full service, while paying the cheaper price gets cheaper service. Sounds completely fair to me.

That's good to hear that you are saving some money. But T-Mobile will find out sooner or later and possibly close your account or even make you pay the price you aren't actually paying.

I would say you are cheating T-Mobile but that's just me.
    Waiting for the Motorola CLIQ!

T-Mobile does know; if they wanted to, they would have fixed the "loophole" long ago. In fact, this method is suggested by some T-Mobile employees.

    As said, if anyone's cheating T-Mobile, it's T-Mobile.

Sheesh $6 for edge... Edge sucks major balls..
I think your out of luck because my edge enabled sidekick's sim was tossed whn I got my G1 (I bought it a store) the rep said the new sim supported 3g which is needed for the system to run so good luck.. 25 a month is not that much ATT customers have it worse
