Thanks for the discount info...Bye I guess...
Back in December my cell phone contract was up and I really wanted to get the iPhone, but it was too expensive, so I switched over to T-Mobile to get the G1. The phone had a few bugs, but it was awesome, best phone I ever owned, but since the unlock for the iPhone 3G came out, I looked all over craigslist for an iPhone and got one, unlocked it, and now im currently using it on t-mobile with data and text for less than half the price i paid for a month of G1s data, although no 3G, but still good.
Some things I will miss about the G1
1. NOTIFICATION BAR, I love this, best part about the phone IMO
2. GMail Integration, Contacts sync with your phone from your email was so useful
3. Full Qwerty Keyboard, typing on my iphone kinda sucks, but not that bad
Some things I will not miss about the G1
1. Carrying a brick in my pocket
2. Battery life would not last me 1 day with 3g off, wifi off, bt off, basically everything
3. Market support, not many good apps out there, but still in the early stages
well thanks android community, learned alot about the g1, hopefully the android platform will blow up and this will be the website everyone will go to learn about android
heres a note for future/current g1 users, or t-mobile users in general
When i was looking for deals on t-mobile i found a website called student advantage
you pay 20 dollars for 1 year, then you get a 12% off your t-mobile plan, activation fees waived, AND if you are a new user, you get the g1 for 139.99 ($30 less than retail)
i can confirm this offer still stands for getting 12% off, but im not sure about getting the g1 for 139

I will never understand the "goodbye" threads in message boards. I just leave, and if I made "friends", I'll just PM them.
I knew about the SA discount as well. As for the phone, I got mine for $159 from TMO, being an existing customer, not within the upgrade period. I just said I would cancel and got Retention to get me the phone.
I got it for $140
But yeah...goodbye threads....blah
na na na na - na na na na - hey hey hey - goodbye!
So long farwell, I hate to see you goooooooooo...
