how is it faster? Maybe just cause it has a different version of the OS?
Gizmodo posted their review for the Sprints HTC Hero.

This is getting me excited.

It's supposed to have the new version of firmware, which was made available for unbranded/unlocked Heros in Europe (and was leaked about a week or two before the actual release).
It doesn't appear to be running Android Donut 1.6 yet, which is kind of interesting since 1.6 is supposed to support CDMA phones. It has the same guts as the Euro Hero, just has the update and like Gizmodo said, uglier =)
HTC Hero (White) Unlocked
ROM: MoDaCo 2.5.1
Recovery: RA-HERO-v1.2.2
Very promising review. Compared the speed to a stock G1 rom, which is pretty damn quick.
Upgraded to
the HTC Hero
Still not impressed - I much prefer the ORIGINAL

I took our in store online training for this phone at Sprint, and honestly learned more from this review than our training, lol. Don't worry, that won't be the only training Sprint employees receive.
In the training I took it shows it was running 1.5, but that can very easily change by release day.
on one of the Gizmodo pics, it shows "with google" on the back of the phone....Interesting, I thought google said no sense UI on "with google" branded phone.
