Question Getting your G1 up and running

The last time I switched phones was from a SideKick ID to a Sidekick 2008 and it was a pain in the rear.

You have to move your sim card from the old phone to the new phone (simple), but ALSO have to enter your elusive "t-mobile password" to sign in.

It seems that my Tmobile password, which was supposed to be changeable on my.tmobile.com - was not what i had changed it to.

I had logged in, changed the password, and it would allow me to enter the website with it just fine.

BUT when I went to sign in to a new phone- no dice. I was using the exact password I had created online a year earlier (and was letting me login to the site with since then)

but it wouldnt work on the new phone sign in.

Called cust service to get my password. They told me it was the same one I had changed it to. I told them it wasnt working, blah blah blah

anyway i had to have a new one issued just to get the new phone working.

    Took over an hour.

Is this same crap going to happen when I get my G1?

or is that tmobile sign-in thing only for Sidekicks? (fingers crossed)

From the looks of the video, seems as if you only need your gmail login information. Unless, your sim also has a password, I think thats pretty much it.
