G1 Video Player Question

Can somebody give me some detailing on how the video work for the V1.01 video application on how it works in comparison to the Youtube? Beside the IMs application thats my biggest concern.

Also on the web browser when you go to a particular website that has a video link can I click on that link and able to view that video if its a youtube video?

The following link should give you a better idea of what the Video Player is used for. As far as playing youtube videos that are listed in other sites, I would imagine that they will automatically play in the youtube player.

Hey Thierry, let me answer this for you.

When you come across a YouTube link and click it, the phone attempts to download it. Then a prompt pops up on the screen and says "Cannot Download. The Content downloaded is not supported on the phone."

The YouTube application on the phone is similar to that of the iPhone. It is there primarily for you to search videos on they're servers, not to play video files.

As far as the video player available through the MarketPlace, that is to play video files transfered on to your microSD. It plays various types of video files.

I hope this clarifies what I told you earlier.

It's working fine. For example when I go to my post about my G1 pictures and try and click that link to my video about the MarketPlace, it gives me that "Cannot Download" message.
