Default G1 SLOW boot with cyanogen

My g1 after rooting and updating to 2.2 sticks on the Tmobile G1 screen for about 50 seconds, followed by about 2 minutes of the cyanogen mod screen.
However, the phone is only a bit laggy once it boots up.
    Code:
    Info:
    DREAM PVT 32B ENG S - OFF
    HBOOT-1.33.2005
    CPLD-4
    RADIO - 2.22.23.02
I think its due to the sd card not being able to get partitioned correctly.

    Code:
    Partition SD:
    Partitioning complete!
    Code:
    SD:ext2 to ext3:
Error: Run 'fs ext3' via console
    Code:
    Wipe SD:
ext partition: Error: Run 'wipe ext' via console!

    Console:
    No ext partition found!

50 seconds on G1 screen and 2 minutes on the CyanMod screen isn't long. I've had 2 G1's and sometimes it take 5 minutes or more total. Trying to run 2.2 on old hardware is what's taking the time. If you are using AmonRA recovery console, it's very easy to format your sd card in recovery.

Its not due to the sd card. Its due to the fact the G1 was never meant to go over 1.6. I see your still running an old spl and radio. You need to go back to Cyanogenmod.com and flash the new radio, perfected spl for 15 extra mega of ram, and then flash Cyanogen 6.1 with the ezterry 2708 kernal.

Then you will have Android 2.2.1, 112700 megs of ram, and the ability to overclock to 614 MHz, which is very stable. Then your G 1 will be a different animal.

unless you are running apps2ext hacks there's no point partitioning the sd card, googles apps2sd used the fat partition.

2 mins is normal boot time for CM, it never booted quickly even on stock.

use someone a different 2.2 rom. there are plenty of others that boot faster and run smoother than the all official cyanogen.

try one that only uses bits and pieces of cyan (every other rom)

    Hi guys.
Sorry for digging out thread but this is exactly what is my problem.
I upgraded my G1 to 2.2 according to all instructions in this
    http://wiki.cyanogenmod.com/index.php?title=HTC_Dream
I am almost certain that everything should work.

But when I boot it stays at "Tmobile G1" splash screen for ages. I gotta say that longest I waited before I rebooted was around 15 minutes.
Is it normal, or did I just bricked my phone?
I can get to recovery boot when I reboot and power on holding HOME.

If that means that I screwed up upgrading how should I use the recovery menu?
Could you guys give me a recovery image to use with AmonRA recovery menu?

I know that I am a new guy but I hope that you can help

sounds like the rom didn't flash properly, are you on danger spl? try reflashing the CM update with AmonRA recovery.

also, you should redownload the rom and gapps again. something could have corrupted. you do need the danger spl to flash the latest cm on your g1, it is required. wipe, reflash the rom, reflash the gapps, reboot.
