G1 sign in problem. Can I enter into Android without sign in to google

Help pls,

I've bought a G1 from Bangladesh and use it only for 3 days. I've given a screen unlock pattern. But one of my friend gave several wrong pattern and the G1 get locked and asking for gmail account. But i dont have the original google user name and password. So I've given a reset by pressing home+power button. It again asking
for googlee account. But when ever i enter my personal gmail ID and password it shows a progress bar and ends up with connection problem. For your information I'm useing AKTEL (tm international, malayasia)

Now can i enter into programs without entering google account? How?

I think u can by root ur phone into ADP1, sorry i not really sure but i think so
