Uhhhhhh... That doesn't sound very good... Big security flaw if it's true.
found on tmonews, can anyone confirm this?
found a way to enter "safe mode" which will bypass the initial gmail signin and allow you to straight to the good stuff with out activating via google. You can also bypass the security drawing pattern.
1. Power off your device
2. While device is powering back on press and hold the "menu" key, keep holding it past the G1 and android splash screen.
Phone will boot all the way to the main screen and display "safe mode" in lower left corner.
I have confirmed that data is still fully operational and all of my downloaded programs.

Am I missing something? What is at risk here that isn't at risk if someone has physical access to any other device you own?
I've tested it on our store demo and it does work, but you have no access to anything google. You can make calls and browse the web but you cannot access the apps store or your email. So I don't really see the security flaw.
hehehehe
some more steps toward to be able to use the phone WITHOUT a DATA paln... hehehehehe hahahahahaah
Yeah not a security flaw. More like a debugging mode.
Looks like a way to use the phone without a data plan or having to deal with the google sign-in. But it shouldn't allow you to bypass the screen lock, it should only allow you to bypass the google sign-in, because that is a little unsafe.
So is it also a flaw when, on my Windows Mobile device (T-Mobile Dash), I can also "bypass" the screen lock by rebooting the phone?
