Reply With QuoteTry performing a wipe( alt+w) in recovery and installing a new rom . Looks like your rom might have corrupted . First , try just a wipe . If that doesn't work , put a new update on your sd card and update your phone . Try a cyanogen rom .

G1 not bricked but not right
sorry if this is a re-post, have searched and searched and havent found the answer to my problem. I have a rooted G1, been rooted for quite some time, and been running TheDudesCupcake.v1.3.RC2 for over a month now with absolutely no problems. Last night i woke up was groggy and checked my phone for the time, it said safe mode in the lower left hand corner, no idea how that happened since i hadnt touched the thing in hours. It was non responsive to buttons i pushed then rebooted so i just ignored it. when i woke up it was in recovery mode (JFv1.41) and now it wont do anything but that. cant pull up bootloader no matter what, pressing power just brings up recovery. buttons seem to be rather non responsive. Alt+W wont reset it. I tried re-flashing my rom, still comes up recovery. Any suggestions?!?

done, wipe finally worked. still back to recovery screen. then just flashed cyanogens new 4.0.1 stable rebooted thru the console then still back to recovery

strange . its behaving like its missing a rom or like the spl isnt loading the rom . this is the first time i have ever advised this (i am cringing as i write this ) , try putting on a fresh spl .

do you have cyans recovery 1.4 ? maybe , if you do , try a nandroid restore if you have done a backup .

i should have it now. but cant do nandroid restore, as i cannot access the bootloader. no matter what i do it goes to recovery

have you tried starting it up yourself in safemode ? turn on holding menu and power buttons together . hold menu until booted .
have you installed anything or have you done any hacks recently ? maybe a theme ?

yeah safe mode doesnt work either. no thats the crazy thing i have touched anything on it in over a month now.

maybe your home button is stuck and when you power on it takes you to the recovery ?
