G1 no longer downloads from market.

My wife has a stock G1 that for whatever reason is no longer able to download or update apps from the market. She wont let me root her phone so im not able to clear any caches that i can think of. Is there anyway to reset the caches or clear it out. I suggested doing a wipe but if that dosnt work she wont have apps and the market wont work.

Anyone have any suggestions? Im comfortable using ADB if im able to use it without the phone having root if theres anything im able to do with that.

I have the new g2 and from what I can see I believe they updated the market place all together. Also it may be what verison of andriod you running

go to settings, applications, manage applications, find the market app then press uninstall update and clear cache/data.

Tried this didn't work. Though while i was in there i though i might just uninstall the updates to the market and viola! Must have been an incomplete update or something for market.

Must have been because the market layout and all is a lot different then what I was used too after using my cliq xt running 1.5 on it and from checking out my friends driod
