G1 Graphic Equalizer is it possible

Hi Peeps,

I was wondering if anyone here knows if the T-Mobile G1 has the ability to run a Graphic equalizer on the media player. I would love to have go at making one.

I don't think a graphic eq is possible. I've asked around and have heard that the G1 can't process the raw audio - even with Cupcakes new audio APIs. I'd love to be wrong about this, but I think we may be out of luck in this regard.

Google's current media APIs do not seem to allow for inspecting the frequencies of the audio being played, which is a prerequisite for an equalizer.

One may be able to use the JavaZoom libraries to roll your own MP3 player (with equalizer), however.
