Hmmm, so what are they requiring..
4 yr contract ?
Device : HTC HD2 Leo - 1024 (Dual Boot)
ROM : ChuckyDroid Custom WM 6.5.5 w/Sense
Android : Mattc 2.2 Froyo w/Sense 1.5
SDCard : Kingston 16GB Class 2 Micro SDHC
HSPL3: Thanks 2 (Bepe & Cotulla)
Radio : 2.12.50.02_2
But you would need to get a T-Mobile contract for that price tag?

Really a bummer that I ordered this the day before this deal came out!Oh well!
DON'T FORGET.....
"
The purchase price of your device reflects an instant discount of $250 that has been provided to you by Amazon.com based on your agreement to (a) activate a new, non-substitute line of service in connection with this device, and (b) maintain this service with the selected rate plan in good standing for a minimum of 181 consecutive days.
By accepting this equipment discount, you agree that for a period of 181 days after your new equipment is activated, you will not:
·disconnect this line of service
·change your service plan to one with a lower monthly rate (e.g., from $59.99 to $29.99)
·cancel required plan options such as BlackBerry or PDA/Smartphone data features
·transfer this device to another line of service
·fail to pay your balance due each month
If you do any of the above you will be subject to additional charges by Amazon.com of up to $250, plus applicable taxes."
I know this is common practice for most carriers, but the preferential treatment that carriers give to try to lure new subscribers drives me nuts. I'm a T-Mobile subscriber and I'd jump on this deal in a heartbeat. But alas, that wouldn't be a 'new' contract. Went round and round on T-Mobile chat support and they refused to give me the $97.99 price, even though I've been a customer for 5 years and I'm within 2 months of the end of my contract.
I'm going to try again by phone and if i can't get the price I'm going to have to switch carriers.
I'm completely aware that this will probably be more $$$ in the long run but if I can't reinforce what seems to be their assumption that current subscribers are passive dolts who won't take the time to switch carriers.

I took advantage of this deal, but Amazon made me go in to the t-mobile store to verify some stuff (hour plus drive), where I found out that even though t-mobile charges $179 for the phone (w/ 2 year contract) they have a "customer appreciation" sale going on, and they are waving activation fee ($35) and giving a $50 credit towards your service.
So, you can get the phone for $94 from the t-mobile store, and you don't need to wait for the phone from Amazon.
