    Default G1 customers might be

returning their phone as fast as people are buying them. Seems like theres a lot more to complain about as far as having the basics down in a phone... and functions/options/limitations/ and normal things that are on ****tier phones but not on this one.. and they say this phones supposed to be high-tech..

hmm, just a thought. fix it google...

love the phone, hate the options/functions.
&its lack of fundamental phone functions.
better camera with flash, resolution size, white balance, etc.
(how are you supposed to take a picture, takes forever for it to snap, comes out blurry)
navigating &accessing your external microSD card from the phone
    viewing files
    video recording
    bluetooth A2DP
    3.5mm jack
AIM (supposed to be an upgrade for many tmobile customers who have the sidekick, since most people on tmobile have the sidekick... AIM is horrible but GTALK works well..., there goes customers)
    syncing to PC

i've seen all these normal elements on horrible phones and this phones supposed to be a lot better than all those, yet it lacks all the basic.. wtf is that... tmobile might be having alot of angry customers and ppl turning away.

ps. HTC also made the tmobile wing &the dash both have all those basics.

looks like they wanted to be different for some odd reason...the usb headset was a TERRIBLE move! what happens if you want to charge your phone and talk at the same time because bluetooth is killing ya battery along with other stuff running...won't be able to do that because there is no headphone jack available due to the charger! OMG...i can't believe it...

the phone is dope tho...just missing the simple stuff... i don't think they know they have an ANYphone killer that has the potential to lay the competitors down...give us the basics google...geeeeeeeeeez

People seem to be having trouble grasping this concept....Android is an Open Source operating system. One that can, and more importantly will, be updated and upgraded as time goes on. The handset that is the G1 will only continue to get better as that Operating System gets better.

It's quite simple. Your phone will get better as the OS gets better.

There are 3 complaints in your list that are associated with the hardware (device) you bought and have nothing to do with Android. Those, sadly, will not get better. Although, I really don't understand why everyone keeps griping about the lack of flash on the camera. I've NEVER seen a cellphone that has a flash. That complaint continues to baffle me.

Anyway...I hope that you don't abandon the platform just because you're an early adopter. It's a revolutionary idea that's coming to fruition here and I know that I'm glad to be one of the first on board.

Fortunately the reviews before its released mentioned these things.

I'm happy with it and am fine with waiting for an update. I didn't expect a new OS from someone who's never made an OS to be perfect the first time around. I knew this would be a "beta test" phone.

ehh its not that bad. I am learning to like it alot.

YES there are alot of little things that need tweaking.

I'm sure that over time most of them will be addressed- otherwise you could make a lucrative career in writing custom apps for people..

agreeed, it just blows my mind. Honestly google youre thinking of releasing a phone thats supposed to make a hit, be the next best thing yet why have you jumped to advanced stuff like the app market, etc etc, but not even have the basics down. wouldn't you think that they would have this all planned out &set it to perfection.. if they did this just to suck in ppl then release another version.. a "G2" in the near future i'll be pissed, i already have my philosophy and AMERICA and stupid marketing, making newer versions yet nothings upgraded same piece of crap just diff look *cough* sidekick... if they make a new phone G2, better be much better than the first and have all the basics.

ps. the phone was obviously rushed idk why they couldn't hold out till like xmas season &had all the errors and basics down... they'd still have a lot of ppl wanting it.. holiday season.

i don't plan to leave it, &i know some of the basics i mentioned are hardware that cannot be fixed obviously but some can be fixed due to the fact that the android OS is based off linux an open source. as the OS gets better the phone will get better. but in my mind, still would of thought it would have been further in the game than it is now. shouldn't be that many complaints and things its lacking

"I've NEVER seen a cellphone that has a flash. That complaint continues to baffle me." ~~~ I had a BlackBerry Curve that I returned during the 'Buyers Remorse Period', that had a REALLY bright flash, so bright that I was almost afraid to use it in a crowd, thought they'd jump me!!

very true, i agreed. But the camera part doesn't have to be so much part of the OS or atleast the programmed hardware that runs it. that is something that could of been made better already, including the phone jack.
