Thread: G1 Corporate Discount

    Default G1 Corporate Discount

I called T-Mobile and they verified that I am eligible for a 15% corporate discount because of the company I work for. It took a few transfers to seemingly get to the right department but ultimately a department called business sales or something like that seemed to know what they were saying. They said I get some nice benefits:

    1. 15% off as mentioned above from the monthly service. They said it was off voice only, not data. Another rep the next day told me it was off the entire monthly bill. Anyone with a corporate discount know the truth?

    2. Free 2 day shipping.

    3. 1 year contract instead of 2.

To get these benefits business sales said I needed to order the phone through them, but the next day a store employee told me it was nonsense. They claim I can buy the phone in store on Wednesday and then send in a form for the monthly service discount. They said I Wouldn't get the 1 year contract but that was the only difference.

No one at T-Mobile seems to really know the facts, does anyone here?

    Thanks.

its best to go through business sales, you may get a better handset price, and of course the 1 year contract option... from my experience, it seems the retail store employees are open to mishaps, and sometimes don't waive activation fees, give you the proper rate plan etc per your company's policy with t-mobile... sure they can probably price match with business sales to get their activation, but IMO its best to go through the source, business sales...

15% is off your base plan, optional features are more than likely not covered under your company's agreement unless their isa specific rate plan that they are offering you, for example a blackberry plan that includes a bucket of minutes... it depends on your agreement with t-mobile, but other than blackberry internet and a limited bucket of messages, i highly doubt it covers general data

Yep I do. I am on a Corporate Discount contract. I had to sign up my contract through the Business Services part of T-Mobile but after that I am treated like a normal customer. I didn't get the G1 at a discount but my bill is discounted every month. I get 15% off my phone plan and 15% off my text messaging add on. It is done separately on my bill i.e Corporate Volume Discount for 6.00 - Phone and Corporate Volume Discount for 1.50 text.

    Hope that helps!

You can definitely do the discount after the fact by sending in the form. You can even take proof of employment to the store and have them submit it.

If two reps quote you two different prices or discounts or whatever, those calls are frequently recorded. Also you can have them put what they said in your notes. In either case, companies typically have to stand by their claims, and I would recommend going with the better of the two.

I work for a really large company and we have a whole website dedicated to corporate discounts. You may want to check with someone at your company.

How many people does your company employ?

We only have 6 people on BlueBarries and I'm not one of them. I'll call our rep and find out if I qualify for a discount.
One year contract would be nice.

How do you find if the company you work for has the "deal" with T-Mobile?

I'm on with T-mobile right now about this. My company provides every T-mobile store with the day's customer traffic counts...so hopefully my company qualifies since we provide a service to T-Mobile.
