    Default G1 car charger

Does the G1 come with a car charger? If not, is one available yet?

    1st Question - No.

2nd Question - Yes. Look on e-bay or even in the Android Store at the top of the page.

If it's mini-USB, then probably. I've been using my old Motorola one for years for all of my HTC phones, so I'm assuming it'll also work for the G1 since HTC made the hardware :P

The SideKick 08 switched to a mini USB charger.. I had to get one and I'm glad to see it looks like I'll be able to use it on the G1.

about $22 at a Tmob store

Good question!! We had an big ice storm in tulsa last year, we were without power for a week! Some people longer. that's when I bought my car charger, plus it was a way to stay warm... driving around in the car with the heater blasting!! LOL

I was about to buy one when I realized two things:

    1) i have a motorola car charger that should work for a while and

    2) Kaz mentioned that his cheap cable made the G1 heat up quite a bit. I think anyone with a car charger that works for the interim might want to wait before buying something new to make sure it's the most compatible. That said, I have to assume any HTC-branded version would be preferable.

BUT -- I know my toshiba laptop power supply unit sucked raw eggs, but I bought a BTI (actually 2) and have had no trouble with it. So manufacturer's versions are necessarily the best. I'll be eager to read reviews before buying something else to charge my baby.
ASUS eee Pad Transformer en route!! T-mobile G2 in hand, N1 on loan to my daughter. G1 on ice.

Yes, precious...my Transformer is almost here...now if only T-mobile would roll out Gingerbread for my G2 already!!
