G1 but no 3g signal

anyone else who got there G1 today not getting 3g signal? mines is showing edge i spoke with customer care who says they added it to my acct but after a 3 hrs still no 3g signal...

ok... here are your options... well... answers..
1. you are not in a 3g area
2. It can take from 2-24 hours to get the package on your phone
3. like Kansas City, MO. the 3g won't be switched on until launch day. (wednesday) source:t-mobile rep.
4. I have ready somewhere that you have to select it under settings.

per the tmob website where i live is a gr8 3g area no this morning while taking the train in to work the 3g came on and off right now at my job the 3g is on but when i move around it goes back and forth to edge...anyone know is there an option like the iphone to enable or disable 3g for the G1

I have the sam proble, goes in and out between edge and 3g. The problem is that the status bar has only one on when on 3g....will try downtown today see what happens (i'm in the suburbs...)

i have not signal at all no 3g no adge no t mobile signal goes on and off what that f....any ideas.... thanks

did you call and ask cust care to chg the data plan?

I know your problem. I calles customer support ans stuff and told them what happened. They gave advise and later they took a scan of my phone and said that when I was getting beat up on school the guy kicked to hard and broke my 3g converter. So then three days later they say I could mail it to them and they will replac it if you have the 1 year warranty or come to the shop and exchange you broken g1 for another g1 for free. You g1 may have a 3g converter issue. This addvise is really helpful so just do it
