But I might keep my Blackberry little bit longer so I can still tether until there's a software to allow G1 to tether.
I am dumping my Pearl for this one, I agree with above and will be holding on to mine as well until a tethering app is developed.
I love my curve, but I have an issue. Blackberry has made me mad b/c they have promised devices and updates to the OS that continue to be delayed! Arggggg!!! Therefore I have G1 fever.
G1 is so good, they ought to make it a vitamin!
Yeah! I was going to get the BB flip until I saw the G1. I hope Gmail is just as fast as bb mail.
I'm leaving my Curve...it was fun while it lasted.
My son (college age) and I are both moving from our Pearls to G1s.
Some thoughts:
- I never wanted *business* email on my Blackberry, since it causes my colleagues to work 24/7 and to email at very inappropriate times.
- I also didn't have a strong desire to forward my home email to it, for some reason.
- As mentioned, web browsing on the Pearl sucks, so I use the Pearl as a, well, phone. (It's a pretty nice phone.)
- I also use it as an alarm clock when travelling.
- My son uses the calendar to get him to classes on time.
- Bottom line is the Blackberry is a pretty good phone and a powerful tool for our employers, but it is not overly fun or valuable for INDIVIDUALS.
- I personally think the learning curve on the G1 will be easier than the Blackberry was. We shall see.
- With the G1, I may finally have a phone where I think the extra $25/month for data services is justified, even if it is just on a 2.5G network.
I'm hopeful the novelty of the G1 will last for some time as more and more apps become available.
Thoughts?
