Freezing in Sleep Mode - Help!

Has anyone else experienced a problem where the G1 will randomly not wake up from sleep mode, and you have to pull the battery out to get it to boot back up? I am now on my 3rd G1 and they have ALL done this to me. I've ruled out the following possibilities:

3rd Party Apps (G1 froze after factory reset before any apps were installed)
Turning 3G off
SD Card
Battery
Sim card

I'm beginning to suspect that it has something to do w/ being in contact w/ TMO's network during sleep mode. I currently have 2 G1s that have both given me the freezing problem (I still have to send one of them back). I have my working SIM in one of them and a deactivated SIM in the other. The one w/ the working SIM has frozen on me at least once a day over the last 5 days, whereas the one w/ the deactivated SIM, which isn't in contact w/ TMO's network, has not frozen ONCE (although it did freeze in the past w/ the working SIM). I should also mention that the freezing seems to happen mostly in my home, and it mostly happens overnight (I'm guessing this is b/c it's the longest amount of time where I don't wake up the phone manually).

Any thoughts? Anyone else experiencing this problem? It doesn't seem to be too common (although I have read posts on TMO's forums and TMONEWS about it), and I find it hard to believe that I've received 3 faulty phones w/ the same, rare problems.

Any input WHATSOEVER would be greatly appreciated. Thanks so much - I'm going crazy w/ this!

Weird. Mine will freeze a bit while locked - but I know it's not totally locked because I'll have music playing in the background. What I usually do is hit end button and then the menu one over and over until it comes back up lol...

But after RC30 it has been doing it a lot more, and didn't really do it on my Black G1 (I have a white one now).

Thanks for the input Ward. I've had the "partial" freeze that you describe as well, but that one's not too bad since it will eventually wake up after hitting the buttons and waiting. The freeze I'm talking about is only solved w/ a battery removal (in fact, if it freezes while charging, the light remains solid when I unplug it).

Also, all 3 of mine have been the black G1.

odd...I have not experienced this. My phone has sometimes had a 2-3 second delay when I hit the menu button trying to wake it up...and the home screens have frozen for 5-6 seconds when exiting the browser though which is pretty annoying to me, but I believe its probably just a memory issue

I am thinking that I may have lucked out with my device. I have had little to no problems with my phone overall. No sqeaks, decent battery life, gps is spot on, wifi works flawless...im startin to feel bad for you guys

Wierd. Sounds like you guys have Windows XP running on your G1s. I have never had a wake-up problem. I suspect your problem lies in your SIM card, strangely enough.

Ha - windows is a good comparison. Unfortunately it's not the Sim card. I suspect that earlier and got a new SIM card, but that didn't fix the problem. It seems to happen almost only when I'm in my home, which is also very strange.

Your problem must be related to the G1 connecting to the T-Mobile network at your home. You seem to have eliminated a lot of the other possibilities. Thanks for reporting your issue and diagnostic process.

Try turning on the phone without a SIM to see if the problem persists.

I'm kind of doing that now. I have a deactivated SIM in the phone so I have no connection to the TMO network. No freezes yet, but I want to give it some more time.
