Been there done that twice getting out of the car... thank gawd for the bodyguardz... if the scratch is not big try a sharpie or one of the autobody paint pens... may have better application control
So I pulled a pretty classic move as far as stupid things I regularly do goes. I sit pretty low in my car and so my pockets aren't good for keeping my phone in. There isn't really a natural place to put my phone at all really in my car so its usually in my lap. I forgot and got out of my car which sent my phone skidding across pavement. I have some super light scratches on the back cover and a pair of more significant scratches on the edge of the front. One of those shows a tiny bit of light brown/white. I have some bodyguardz on the way but am wondering if anyone has ever used nail polish on a phone like this before? I found some shades online that look close but I will go into a department store to be safe.

I dropped mines on tuesday night after OBAMA won and i was really satisfied with the bounce effect gave me confidence in the solidity of the device.

I dropped mine day 4... I was sooooooooo bummed, first drop I have had on any device like that in over a year.. but the phone held up like a champ! I got a little ding on the upper right corner and that was it really.. the screen is fine and there are no other blemishes I can see... the phone works perfect also.. whew. well, I am glad now I got that out of the way..
anyways.. I have not tried nail polish on a any device like this to fill in scratches.. I would think it would look more glossy than the matte finish of the phone.. have you considered just using a black sharpie? then put the body gaurds on over it? just a thought..
edit: lol.. well I guess the sharpie idea is popular.. that post popped in before I could finish mine.![]()
I dropped mine the first time in the ladies room at work. But the floors in there are really slick and put Mr. Clean to shame. Plus it landed flat on it's back. So... Phew....![]()
Mine is brown so....maybe a brown sharpie? Damn that is a great idea. And cheap. Thanks guys. I will try that first. Cool. I was so utterly disgusted with my self when this happened, I won't stop at a sharpie if I am not satisfied. I will let you know how it goes and how my nail polish adventures turn out.
A friend of mine dropped hers, and the screen cracked. She only had it for 2 days. The wierd thing is she only dropped it about 2 feet into her cup holder. It must have hit just right. She says it still works fine though.
So far I have had pretty good luck, no drops yet... Knock on wood-
Meh, I personally think the G1 can take a beating i mean i dropped mine 2 times for fun.
First, When i bought it in front of the T-Mobile store told them i wanted to see if it was a solid phone.
Second, I was comparing it to my buddys Iphone so we both felt we should do a drop test to see if one would break to see which phone is better as far as durability. (Clearly neither phone broke).
So there was no winner, And there isn't one noticable mark on my G1 that would make you think i dropped it. Great Phone.
I almost threw up reading that. Dropping your phone on purpose? If I dropped an infant and my G1 at the same time, I would not let that phone touch the ground.
Ahh well, I got a cover on mine. So if I ever drop it, hopefully it will help-
