You all are so lucky, Im with Tmo so I have to wait for the Milestone (gsm version of Droid). I like the qwerty and Im so excited. But to Rocket71, I think you should get the Eris

but the SE X10 looks good too but no qwerty

Good luck with either choice :P

I love how the Eris has much friendlier interface than the droid. Do you know if those apps will be available for the Driod in the future?

HTC makes the Eris (Hero) while Motorola makes the droid. I doubt HTC will port a rom for the droid... (the "friendlier interface" features are not apps, but rather parts of a ROM image)

Well, I got the Eris...got it to work and messed around. Another guy in the office got the Droid. I went back to Verizon and was very very close to swapping it out but the more I mess with the Droid the more I really liked the Eris interface. I can't wait for Android 2.0 so I can get TbT Nav.

I also now know what people mean by the Android Market not being so good. Ugghh...trying to find anything really worthwhile is good. Pandora won't work, Slacker isn't on there when I search, Last.fm is okay. I guess that just means I have to spend more time playing on my phone.

What do you consider worthwhile? Anyway, Pandora works on my Hero, although I only have it to show to people who ask when they see my phone "Hey, do you have Pandora?" Even streams audio through my bluetooth.

I wouldn't expect to see A2 and on the Hero/Eris until next year. In the meantime, you could use Telenav which requires a 10$ recurring monthly fee and uses your cellular signal, or CoPilot which will cost you a one time fee of 35 bucks, and stores the maps directly to your SD.

I had the pleasure of playing with both phones today, the Droid is great as expected but the Eris is way better than I thought it would be. Its the best Hero phone I used and i used all 3.
