E-Mail never notifies me of a new E-Mail (GMail works perfect, but EMail doesn't)

you can set it to refresh more often, but its still not true push e-mail like the gmail app. i gues thats just google's way of pushing towards one direction lol

Did you look in you email's settings? you can set it up to check more often.

It's been reported in many threads that the email notifications (other than the Gmail client) are not reliable.

For me, once in a while when the phone is in sleep mode I will get a notification of new emails. Other times while it is in sleep, I will get no notifications but after I hit menu and start using the phone then within about 30 seconds I will get a notification and I will find many emails that have been received over the last several hours. Sometimes when you go to view those messages, you get connection errors and other times you don't. It's just not consistent and reliable.

I've got the same problem. Also mine doesn't refresh through wifi, it can only do it on 3g

I had the same problem (UK, unlocked on o2).

I got round it by forwarding all my .mac mails to Gmail and using Gmail on my G1 and computer.

Job done.

I wish G1 creates a push email on the other email accounts, it would have been the best phone if ever.
