Well, there is a possible downside of having that extra bit of code potentially bugging things up, perhaps leading to crashes which otherwise wouldn't happen, but if it's disablable then it should be like a module on the linux kernel: when not in use, it's nonexistent. e.g., can't cause bugs, doesn't get run, doesn't slow down the phone.

I must have read that wrong.. I saw "tired of the G1 and iPhone being compared as though they're supposed to be equal" but I guess a comparison is a comparison.. and hypocritical or not, I like her comparison

I’d probably enjoy using MT if it were available and made sense for the apps. It would also have to be stable and not overly tax the available resources.

Obviously not a requirement, because I didn’t buy the G1 expecting it to have MT, but could be a ‘nice to have’ enhancement if it were to come along.

Stating that my phone is better than another is hardly indicating that I wish my phone had all of said other phone's features. Actually what my sig is saying is that I'm GLAD my phone isn't like the other, because mine is better.
