Do you think people would buy the HTC Dream if it wasn't powered by Android ?

Let's face it, The hardware wasn't really the reason why people bought the G1. It really is due to Google's OS and hope for a competitor to actually match apple's innovative software. Let's just put it into perspective, if the device wasn't going to have google's OS then that would be by a default making it an Windows Mobile Product. Now, I'll be the first to tell you that the actual hardware of the phone isn't even on par with some of the other high end devices on the market. Makes you really wonder would people really had bought this phone if it was just for the phone itself. To tell you guys the truth I bought Android, it just so happens that it was on the HTC Dream. So would people have bought this if it was with Windows Mobile ?.. Funny stuff..

I mean does anybody know if the hardware competes with the iphone well? The speakers are good, the camera is better than the iphone, the screen is a bit worse, but how about graphics?

Can it play emulator games like gba and snes games on it like the iphone can?

I would of switched even if it was running WinMo, My main reason for switching was because of Android though. Before the G1 i was using a Wing which is the best PPC TMobile offered, before that i had the MDA which was the only PPC TMobile offered. The hardware is double that of the Wing, and i was looking into getting the Tilt unlocked for TMobile before the G1 release was announced.

But if it was android and the hardware was weak I would not buy either.
