Defective/Replacement G1 [MERGED] Please keep all G1 replacement dicussion here

So i woke up this morning to find that my alarm on the never went off on the G1(my crackberry woke me up first). Ok no biggie maybe i forgot to turn it on. Well here's what i found odd, my phone was dead or it was off at first (i powered it back on...buzz TMO G1). I charged it all day at work yesterday and i didn't really touch it when i got home. I turned the gps, 3g and the wifi off so their shouldn't be really anything using up battery power. So im stumped, when i went to bed the phone had 90% battery and woke up only having under 15% this morning. I know the battery isnt that great but damn.... So i don't really know how else it drained just wanna see if their is any others that woke up to a dead phone or something similar. On a side note my phone has been crashing ever since ive d/l some apps yesterday. Im gonna have to call TMO to see what i do and maybe get a replacement and wait inline again to get another G1.

Want to add i went to bed at 10 and woke up at 530...thats 7.5 hours of nothing

for the battery, you can charge it overnigiht as you are sleeping..
you have to charge it every night because this phone is impossible to last through 2 full days.


if you downloaded some apps that caused the crashing, you can do a master reset instead of taking it back for a replacement.

Hmm... That is strange.

I've not hand any problems like that at all. Make sure you are using the charger the G1 came with and not any other. Also consult your users manual to learn how to do a factory reset. I think it's Menu > Settings > Data Storage (or something) > Factory Reset, but check your users manual as I am not sure. Also try taking out the battery for about 30 seconds to 1 minute then reinsert it.

I was not woken up by my g1 alarm either... but its probably because i turned it off to swap out the sim card and never turn it back on...

I didnt plug it in because i thought i wouldnt have to. As for the master reset i was all over that yesterday thanks guys

I am having to charge mine twice during the day and all night. It goes dead very quickly. Wifi off, Gps off, Bluetooth on, 3g on, screen all the way down.

For comparison, I used my phone off the charger starting around noon yesterday. When I went to bed, it was about at 70%. WiFi was on all night. When I awoke this morning, it was at about 40%. I've been downloading apps all morning and it is currently at 27%, almost 24 hours later.

I hope you can get your issue resolved.

ur gonnna have 2 plug it in every night, until a firmware update solves that batterry issue some r having the phone may not make it through the nite w/o chrging. odd tho my phones battery is on par with my old pearl which aint bad

i JUST KEEP MINE PLUGGED IN ALL DAY AT WORK....IT IS A BATTERY WHORE, THATS FOR SURE.
