data service only vs basic g1 data plan

i was lookin through things i can add to my phone and i saw a "web browser only" data plan for 24.99 then after that was the "web service and 400 txts,emails,blah blah for 24.99 ....

my question is this a mess up? who in gods name would pay the same price and miss out on 400 domestics txts emails and pics or whatever it says lol

Nope, that is correcto. The $24.99 data only is mostly for people, like myself, who have a family plan and already has the $19.99 family unlimited texting. So, its pretty pointless to have the 400 text w/ data when I already have the unlimited family texting, therefore, they give you that option.

well im in the same boat as u but i might as well get the 400 text with data just because it wont harm anything either way i think thats bull and they should quit being stubborn (they make enough money) if ur payin 20 a month for unlimited texts u should get ur data plan for 9.99 or even 14.99 *sigh*

I had asked a Tmobile rep about that the day of release day (got mine a couple days early, and my services wasn't updated until the 23rd).

Actually, at the time, even though my sister and I had signed up for the $25 unlimited data + 400 txt, we were both set at the $35 unlimited data and text. I also saw the option of the $25 data only plan. I called up Tmobile to ask what was going on, and she told me that it was because the data only plan was just added for those who already have unlimited text via family plan and their system still needed to be updated. She told me to wait until next week before changing anything.

Sure enough, next week I got a text message that told me my data plan was changed. Checked and it was set to the data only plan.

The rep I talked to on the phone said that they were considering lowering the price of the data only plan, as she and the other reps also believed it wasn't fair to be charging the same price.

Basically, we won't be seeing the phone and data plan charges until the next billing cycle. By then, the price may be adjusted between now and then. They are still trying to figure some of these things out.
