so i got a new card and this is STILL happening, now with BOTH cards!
everytime i mount the sdcard to any pc through the g1 it comes back as "Damaged SD card"
sdcard wont mount in CM recovery 1.4, in terminal it comes up as empty even when i place a dummy file in there, and parted comes back saying "no such block" or similar.
the only way to get it working again is to put it in a card reader, reformat in xp, then put it back in my g1 and it works fine, until i connect my g1 to pc via usb and it happens all over again!
what am i missing? something is really poked - i need to be able to connect my g1 to pc.

Well, I was facing the same issue. SD formatter is a simple application that let me completely format and erase my SD Card and after that, all was well. Here are the instructions:
http://aliwaqas.info/fix-damaged-mem...-sd-formatter/
See if they work for you!
If you have an automatic task killer, then delete or remove it and you will stop having these issues with your sd card.
