    Thanks. Just want to add that with my myTouch 3G (Aka Magic or G2), firmware 1.5, I can use WAV files as Ringtones as well as MP3. I put the WAV files in my SD Card \ Ringtones folder and they showed up in the ringtones list.

    I created the three folders for : notifications, alarms and ringtones.
    Then put the ringtone I wanted for my notifications in the notifications folder. It was and .mp3 and I was able to assign it as the notification tone.

    There is no need to use a .wav file.

    Hope this helps!

    Found the .mp3 file, transferred it into my Music folder on EVO, and assigned it as my ringtone. It worked.

    ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
    When downloading an .mp3 ringtone from Myxer, my phone presented a message stating that "The content is not supported...," and asked if I still wanted to download it. I clicked "Yes." Now I have no idea where it put the file.
    I presume it wants an OGG file type, and believe I have the tools to convert it, if I can locate it.
    Found it! But, it is an .gcd file, which nothing seems to recognize. What do I do to convert it and use it as a ringtone?
    I don't think there's a way to set for "unknown callers" but if you assigned a custom ringtone for everyone in your Contacts then you'd have to just set the normal ringtone and that'd technically be it. (I know what I said is tedious though...)
