Contacts dont sync?

I went to settings did the import contacts from sim and only my voicemail was imported as a contact

Same here? Guessing we have to manually enter ALL THAT STUFF or maybe there will be some sort of update that will take care of this. What phone did you previously have, im coming from a sidekick and im heard the info isn't exactly on the sim, but on their network????

I'm having a similar problem but mine is that I can't get my gmail contacts to sync, not the sim card. When I created a gmail account last week, I made a completely new contact list b/c the one on my SIM is all junky and messy. But now for some reason I can't get those contacts in my gmail account over onto the "contact" on my phone.

If I go to my gmail and select my contacts I have all 186 listed with an unchecked box next to them ...not sure if I need to give this group a name of if I need to select all or what. Any help would be appreciated!!!

in your settings on you g1 it ask you what things you want synced from your gmail, your contacts my be unchecked

I am also having this issue, since Monday! I have toggled the sync both on and off, and still no contacts.

This is the ONLY issue I am having... love the G1 so far...

One more here. Came from the sidekick side. My google apps domain has 146 contacts. There are two contacts on my G1. The sync is working in theory - looking at the time of the sync in the Data Sync section of Settings it shows that the they are periodically running the script.

Nevermind :-) Have to select the correct group to display on the G1. The default was not all my contacts and was not my favorites.

I still cannot get the Contacts to sync... It shows two days ago in the Setup area.

Any advice?

My sim card did not load in all the info on it. My gmail account loaded down everthing.It made me how many useless email addresses I have. I will look for my telephone numbers and groups later.
Love this new phone. Everything on it works great.
